Stuck Pipes? Use a flannel!

If you’re trying to remove a stubborn pipe from a skin fitting, try soaking a flannel in boiling water, then wrapping it around the offending pipe for ten seconds to soften the plastic. If it doesn’t work first time, repeat – and eventually it’ll slide easily off. Wear waterproof gloves!

Great tip, but I'm a bit mystified by the terminology.
Surely you mean hoses, not pipes?
As a guide: Pipes come in lengths; hoses come in coils.
