16 marinas put through their paces
Hard on the heels of Cheshire’s Overwater Marina becoming the first inland marina to gain the top Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) rating of five Gold Anchors, come those of British Waterways Marinas Ltd.
BWML recently put 16 marinas through TYHA’s scheme, which assesses marinas at home and abroad for design, construction and operation.
BWML marinas gained awards ranging from one Gold Anchor for the ‘quaint’, 85-berth Lemonroyd Marina near Leeds – which scored very highly on customer service – to 600-berth Sawley Marina in Nottinghamshire, one of the largest inland marinas in the UK, which gained five Gold Anchors.
The Gold Anchor Award Scheme won TYHA a PBO 2011 Green Award.
