How to make a depressing job a little bit easier

When it comes to winter jobs, ‘keying’ the antifouling by wet sanding it to provide a key for the new paint to stick to is one of the more depressing. But here’s some tips.

If it’s cold, use warm water. Use the roughest paper you can find (60 grit is ideal) and buy plenty of it – as soon as it starts to lose its bite, change it. Finally, try and enlist an army of helpers – it’ll be more fun and you’ll get far more done, in return for a few pints.
