Move up a size, especially when choosing mast base blocks

When kitting out a boat with deck hardware, don’t be tempted to skimp and get the smallest possible. Move up a size instead and the benefits will be threefold – there’ll be less friction, less likelihood of a breakage and it’ll almost certainly last longer. This is especially true when it comes to blocks at the base of the mast to lead lines aft.
