Paper chart position fixing

A quick way to plot your position on a paper chart is to use a single position line from a waypoint. If you already have the waypoint plotted on the chart, then all you need to do is read off the bearing and distance from the GPS and you've got an instant position on paper.

To make it even easier use the centre of a compass rose as your waypoint then you can plot the bearing directly on the chart without the need for a plotter.
