Clash with Armed Forces Day means a busy day for Dee

With tomorrow being Armed Forces Day as well as the Round-the-Island race, round the world yachtswomen and honorary commander on the Royal Navy reserves Dee Caffari will be in for a busy day.

Today Caffari (pictured centre in naval attire) participated in her first parade in her official capacity as the honorary commander of HMS Sultan then PBO joined her as she rushed to join the Toe In The Water crew for their pre-race training.

The charity has two yachts in the race, an eponymous Farr 52 and a Farr 45, called Toe In The Water Too, which are crew by injured servicemen and able-bodied volunteers.

Both boats can be followed on the race website’s tracker.

Toe In The Water is funded entirely by public donations. Visit toeinthewater.org for more information.
