More fundraising tucker for the RNLI

If you want to whip up a quick but hearty lunch aboard, you’ll now be able to give a little to the saving-lives-at-sea charity as well.

The New Covent Garden Food Co., known for its delicious pre-prepared soups, has ‘launched’ a new Smoked Haddock Chowder. Every carton sold will generate a donation to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

A spokesman for the company said, ‘Fishing is one of the UK’s most hazardous industries and the RNLI rescued 864 fishermen last year. We wanted to show our support for the RNLI and its volunteer crews.’

The all-natural product, featuring an image of the RNLI lifeboat Spirit of Padstow, is now available in major UK supermarkets.
