A man suspected of falling overboard has been found 42 hours later in a ship’s storeroom. The man went missing off the dive support vessel Pelican in the early hours of Sunday morning, and despite several very thorough searches of the ship, was nowhere to be found.
Ten vessels and two helicopters joined in the search for the man off the Aberdeen coast, until he was located behind a bulkhead suffering from a broken leg. The man has been stabilized and given medication by the ship’s doctor and a helicopter is expected to evacuate him around midday today.
