Michael Sanatani grew up in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, canoeing the small lakes and rivers.

Holidays with rented houseboats on the Rideau and Trent canals got him hooked on having a boat of his own with which to explore the nearby Lakes Huron and Erie.

Michael bought a 1990 24ft cruiser but found it too big to be moved with a small electric engine. Hybrid boat version 2.0 with the 17ft Kiwi was success.

Michael describes himself as “a complete amateur when it comes to working on boats”. He works as a medical doctor.
