Duncan Veal began sailing after migrating from the UK to Australia in 1988. Starting with dinghies, he graduated to keelboats through chartering yachts in the Mediterranean and Whitsunday Islands.

In 2011 Duncan and partner, Christine, bought their first yacht for racing on Sydney Harbour. After a stint as Commodore of Blues Point Yacht Club, Duncan stepped back from racing, they purchased Good as Gold, a Montevideo 43, and now enjoy cruising the East Coast of Australia. Both Duncan and Christine are qualified as Yachtmasters.
