Comedy festival combines with 2011 Boat Show

The dates of the 2011 Liverpool Comedy Festival have been changed so that the event coincides with the inaugural Liverpool Boat Show, allowing Boat Show visitors to join in the festivities.

Performances will take place at the Boat Show itself, including ‘comedy on the canal’, which will use narrow boats as the stage.

The 2011 Liverpool Comedy Festival will run from 28th April to 8th May and is expected to attract upwards of 30,000 additional visitors as fans flock to the city to see their favourite acts.

Previous festivals have boasted line-ups including Jimmy Carr, Lee Mack, Peter Kay and Paul Merton.

Gillian Miller, chair of the Comedy Trust, which organises the Liverpool Comedy Festival, said: “Liverpool has so much to offer visitors and by moving our dates to coincide with the Boat Show we are ensuring that the national and international audience that the show will attract will be able to enjoy some of the very best comedy around.”
