Tue 1 June Little Cockles: Sand Dunes and Sea
10am start / 1½ hours
A fun session for families with children up to 5 years old. Today we will be taking harbour cuddly toys for a walk through the sand dunes and on to the beach at East Head. Bring refreshments for a picnic snack afterwards. Carry harnesses for very young ones will be more suitable than pushchairs.

Thur 3 June Animal Orienteering in Salterns Copse
10am start / 1½ hours
Our fun version of orienteering for families, finding the twelve creatures that like to live in the shoreline woodland area of Salterns Copse. How quickly can you find them all?

Sat 5 June Harbour Farm Walk - In association with Countryside 2010
2pm / 2 hours
Learn all about how farmers manage their land next to the harbour, see the cows being milked and then enjoy complimentary refreshments. With farm owners’ Mr and Mrs Pike. Safety briefing 2pm prompt.

Sat 5 June Earth, Air and Water: Photography Day
10am / 6 hours
Be inspired by the location and the guidance of professional Iain McGowan to take great photographs within Chichester Harbour. Beginners to experts welcome. Bring your camera equipment and plenty of film if you aren’t digital. A tripod will be useful. Also bring outdoor gear, wellies, and a packed lunch (or buy lunch in the pub). Safety briefing 10am prompt. Half day review session on Sunday 29 August.

Wed 9 June Wild Flowers of Fishbourne Meadows
10am start / 1½ hours
A short stroll (less than 1 mile) through the wetland meadow habitat of Fishbourne Meadows, taking time to look for and identify wild flowers. Bring a Wild Flower Field Guide if you have one. No dogs please.

Sun 13 June Historical Harbour on the Solar Boat
11am / 1½ hours
Learn about the communities that have grown up around the harbour onboard the Solar Heritage, with historian Ian Friel.

Tue 15 June Sea Shanties and Harbour Jug Band
7:30pm / 1½ hours
Hear about the origins of sea shanties sung by sea-going men recruited to work on ships in years gone by. We will sing a few sea shanties then bring it all together with the Harbour Jug Band instruments. Be prepared to sing along and have fun, no musical experience required.

Sat 19 June Two Villages and a Ferry Walk
9:30am start / 5 hours
A 7 mile (11km) walk between the villages of Bosham and Itchenor with ferry rides in between. Bring a packed lunch and be prepared for muddy tidal paths. Please bring £2.50 per person to pay the ferryman direct for the return journey.

Sun 20 June Environmental Art at Pallant House Gallery
1pm / 3 hours
Enjoy an environmental-art themed tour followed by a two-hour painting workshop led by artist and Conservancy Teacher Jane Latawski. In partnership with Pallant House Gallery. Some materials will be provided or bring your own.

Wed 23 June Evening Walk with Moth Trapping
9:30pm / 2 hours
A 2½ mile (4km) return walk at dusk along the shoreline and through Chichester Harbour countryside to Fishbourne Meadows, to meet up with members of the Chichester Natural History Society who have kindly volunteered to set up a moth trap to introduce us to the moths they find in the meadows. With Mike Perry of CNHS and John Knight, WSCC Coastal Ranger. Dress warmly and for muddy conditions and also bring a torch. No dogs please. Safety briefing 9:30pm prompt.

Sun 27 June Solar Boat Trip and Walk
11am / 1½ hour boat trip and 1 hour walk
Explore the harbour onboard the solar-powered Solar Heritage. Leave the boat at Chichester Marina and then walk 3 miles (5km) through harbour countryside back to the start. Dress warmly and bring refreshments for the boat trip.
