National charity Vitalise is seeking dinghy enthusiasts to accompany visually impaired people on a sailing holiday

Dinghy sailors are being sought by a national charity to accompany a group of visually impaired people on a sailing holiday to the resort of Ortakent, on the Bodrum Peninsula in Turkey.

The holiday takes place from 12 to 19 October 2009 and is offered to dinghy sailors at the specially discounted price of £495.

Volunteers will be asked to be sighted guides navigating their dinghies and making the so-called Turquoise Coast of Turkey ‘come alive’ for the visually impaired holidaymakers. Vitalise Holidays Manager Sam Earl said: ‘We need sailing enthusiasts with a zest for life for this unique opportunity.’

In addition to sailing there will be the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of other activities including windsurfing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, RYA tuition and fitness classes.

Vitalise Holidays enables groups of visually impaired holidaymakers to visit destinations in the UK, Europe and worldwide, and take part in activities ranging from hill walking to music, canoeing to ballroom dancing, off-road driving to horse riding and cycling to wine tasting.
