British teams aiming for gold in every sailing class

Paralympic sailing begins on Saturday with British teams hoping for gold in all three classes.

All six sailors who competed in the Beijing Paralympics return for another crack, after all were disappointed to miss out on the medals four years ago.

Between them the British teams have won nine world championships since 2008, including four for Alexandra Rickham and Niki Birrell in the SKUD class, who finished fifth in China.

Also competing for Britain are John Robertson, Hannah Stodel and Steve Thomas in the three-person Sonar keelboat and Helena Lucas in the one-person 2.4 metre keelboat.

The racing starts in Weymouth on Saturday at 11am in the SKUD class and all three fleets will sail two races a day until Thursday, when there is just one race.
