Torquay Town Dock: Torquay outer harbour’s ‘Town Dock’ comprises of pontoon finger berthing for leisure vessels up to 12 metres loa and a small selection of larger commercial craft.
The Town Dock caters for 170 berths arranged in 6m, 8m, 10m and 12m plus a small selection of PWC (Jet Ski) pods. The pontoons are firmly aimed at providing affordable berthing and the facility is occupied and enjoyed by the local community.
This also creates a venue for an increasing number of visiting yachtsmen to Torquay with a visitors’ pontoon, which doubles as a Maritime Events area. Water and electric points are located on the pontoons. The facility has coded access and is not available to the general public, thereby maintaining security and privacy.
Inner Dock facility now completed; 190 berths are all taken but a waiting list is forming for 8m and 9.14m.
