Ian Nicolson CEng FRINA FIIMS has been in the yacht industry for 78 years, following the example of his great-grandfather who was closely involved in the design of the Cutty Sark.

For many years Ian was a partner in A Mylne & Co, the oldest yacht design firm in the world, started by Alfred Mylne the First in 1896.

Ian cruises and races his family’s Maxi 1000 and has written 27 books about yachts, including Introduction To Yacht Design.
