Sailing on the Solent today?
Look out for the amazing Collective Spirit sportboat built from peoples's wooden treasures being put through her paces by PBO test team.
The Boat Project has been built for the Cultural Olympiad and made from wooden objects, donated by the public that include pieces of HMS Victory and the Mary Rose, a shaving of Jimi Hendrix's guitar and a Victorian policeman's truncheon.
Each region of Britain has its own Cultural Olympiad art project with the Boat Project representing the south-east and the PBO team is today sailing the fast-planing hull that has a carbon rig and asymmetric spinnaker.
Pick up the August issue of PBO, on sale from July 19, to see what we think of the boat.
Skipper wanted for Olympic vessel.
Boat Project wins £500k grant.
