Police have named the crewman who died early Saturday in the Channel

A crewman who died after a Solent-based yacht capsized in the English Channel has been named by police, according to the Southampton Daily Echo.

Jamie Richard Butcher died after Hooligan V a Max Fun 35 rolled in the early hours of Saturday after losing its keel near the south Devon coast.

Mr Butcher, 27, from Mildenhall, Suffolk, was recovered by Salcombe Lifeboat.

Four other crew members were rescued, including skipper Ed Broadway, a member of the Royal Southampton Yacht Club, who comes from Newport Pagnell in Buckinghamshire.

An MAIB investigation is underway.
