25 UK products in the running for accolades at the world's number one international marine design competition

Twenty-five UK products are shortlisted for the upcoming DAME Design Awards.

The number of British nominees make up almost half of the 52 products from
12 countries, chosen from a total of 115 entries for the final judging.

The DAME Jury
will eventually choose a maximum of seven category winners and an overall winner.

Winners of the world’s number one international design competition for new
marine equipment and accessories will be announced at the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) in Amsterdam later this month.


The British Marine Federation is proud that 12 of its members are among the 25 UK products shortlisted.


Energy
Solutions, Raymarine UK, Henri Lloyd, Scanstrut Ltd, Cooney Marine
International Ltd, Garmin, Trend Marine International Ltd, SeaSmart Marine Ltd,
Oceanair Marine Ltd, Spinlock, Standard Horizon and Navico were among those carefully
assessed and selected by the DAME Jury.




BMF international committee chairman Tom Reed said: ‘It’s great to see such a strong showing for UK companies in DAME this
year.

‘This is a great testament once again highlighting the capabilities of
design, innovation and expertise within the UK marine industry.’

Winners announced


The Overall Winner and Category Winners will be announced at a
special Breakfast Briefing on Tuesday 19 November at 8am.

Throughout METS
all of the short-listed products will be on display in the DAME display area
located in the entrance of Holland Complex (entrance C).


The
DAME awards also coincide with the official trade visit of Sir Geoffrey Adams,
British Ambassador to the Netherlands who will be attending the show on
Wednesday 20 November to visit some of the shortlisted DAME entrants.
