Giving thanks for the sea

A hundred people attended the annual all-faith Sea Service at Creux Harbour
on Sark.

Guernsey’s
Salvation Army Band was taken to the island by the Barclay Twin’s Passenger
launch Brecqhou Lass.

The RNLI lifeboat charity and St John Ambulance were represented by the
Daniel L Gibson relief lifeboat and the ambulance boat Flying Christine III.

Guernsey
boatman Tony Rive travelled to last Sunday’s event on the lifeboat.

He said: ‘Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great, with quite a stiff breeze from
the south west and frequent drizzle but at least 100 people attended the
service on the quayside.’

A few hardly souls even took the opportunity of the high tide to take a dip in the harbour.
