The world’s most successful Olympic sailor Sir Ben Ainslie will be the
‘castaway’ on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs this Sunday.

He will be join presenter Kirsty Young on the programme from 11.15am to reveal the eight records he would take with him to a desert island.

After a hugely successful career as an Olympian in the Laser and Finn dinghy classes, the 11-times World and nine-times European Champion, turned his attention to big boat sailing.

In
last year’s America’s Cup he turned a 1-8 defeat into a 9-8 win for the
US. Whether he can do the same for his home team may be his next big
challenge.

He says: ‘The desire to win is still the same as ever
… if it wasn’t there, that would be a worry. Motivation has never
really been a problem for me.’

But what will feature on Sir Ben’s chosen soundtrack?
