60ft trawler sinks at her mooring

sunk alongside

A 60ft trawler has sunk at its mooring on Poole Quay.

The 18m (60ft) Channel Chieftan IV foundered on Monday evening.
Poole Harbour Commissioners hastily deployed floating booms to prevent diesel fuel polluting the harbour and divers were called in to inspect the wreck this afternoon. Poole Harbour Commissioners said that while the trawler, in private hands but previously Peruvian-flagged had been refloated, the exact cause of her sinking was unknown.
