County council awards £25,000 grant

A Solent sea safety charity has received a £25,000 grant from Hampshire County Council.

Solent Sea Rescue Organisation
brings together eight independent lifeboat and rescue organisations, as well as providing beach safety and incidents inland.

Leader of the county council, Ken Thornber, said: ‘The Solent is recognised as one of the busiest waterways in the world and there are a number of obvious dangers posed.

‘The Solent Sea Rescue Organisation provides a vital service to all users of the Solent and we are please to continue our support of their efforts to keep Hampshire’s waters safe.’
