Suunto sells after just two years
Suunto, owners of Tacktick only since April 2009, have sold the Hampshire-based business to marine electronics giant Raymarine.
With Tacktick’s wireless and solar-powered instruments complementing their own existing product range, Raymarine believe it is an exciting opportunity. Eventually the product line will be distributed through Raymarine subsidiaries, distributors and service dealers worldwide.
‘We think this acquisition makes tremendous sense for us,’ said Raymarine general manager Tom Surran. ‘Tacktick’s unique Micronet technology allied with the development rigor and manufacturing efficiencies of Raymarine will make for a powerful combination.’
