After 35 years at PBO, Dick Everitt is retiring and we’re looking for a new Deputy Editor.

Practical Boat Owner is Britain’s biggest-selling yachting magazine and the bible for sailors and motorboaters worldwide.

Our deputy editor is responsible for the technical accuracy of the magazine’s content and the successful candidate will therefore have a deep and wide-ranging knowledge of boating including yacht design and construction, onboard systems, navigation and seamanship, rules and regs, and latest product developments.

He or she will also be an experienced and talented journalist, capable of managing our team of experts, commissioning gear tests, editing key sections of the magazine, and writing original and inspiring articles on a wide range of subjects.

The Deputy Editor works with the editor to plan and oversee the direction of the magazine and our website, and deputises for the editor when necessary.

The job is based in Poole, Dorset, and commences in May.
