Lottery grant for UK's oldest electric river boat.

A significant Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £23,600 means that the oldest electric-powered UK river boat, The Mary Gordon, may sail again.
Built with an electric motor in 1898, the boat used to carry up to 75 adults on pleasure cruises up and down Brayford Pool in Lincoln. The boat is now off the water, but the funding means that a series of planning and consultation programmes for her restoration can begin.
