The great outboard robbery as 22 Torqueedo electric engines robbed from warehouse

Norfolk Police’s Broads Beat team are appealing for boat owners to be on the look out for cut-price Torqueedo electric outboards after a well planned and executed robbery in Great Yarmouth in the summer.

The burglary of a warehouse in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk was reported in June but only passed to the constabulary’s marine division over the weekend. In total, 23 Torqeedo electric outboard motors were stolen. They were 20 x model 801S and 3 x model 801L. A total value of £23k.

The motors are very distinctive by their design and their colours of black and orange. Lesser models than the 801 were overlooked in the raid and the thieves went straight to the higher spec models which have had many reviews in the boating press.

The list of serial numbers for the 20 x 801S are shown below. Any members of the public with information should either email: pbo@ipcmedia.com or contact: PC Nathan Tuck, Hoveton Police Station, Norwich
