Public events being held in Scarborough and London as part of consultation

The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) is holding two drop-in sessions as part of the current draft East marine plans public consultation.

The drop-in sessions are for stakeholders and members of
the public in the neighbouring marine plan areas of the North East and
South East and will be held from 10am to 3pm in:

  • Scarborough at the Crown Spa Hotel on 4 September 2013
  • London at the University College London Pearson G07 on 6 September 2013

Visitors do not have to register for the Scarborough session, but are asked to email planning@marinemanagement.org.uk so organisers can get an idea of numbers.

You must register online
for free tickets if you would like to attend the London session and bring a print
out of your registration to get into the building

The East marine plans may have an impact on your local
community if you live or work around the seas from Flamborough Head in the north to Felixstowe in the south.

The draft plans were produced following extensive
stakeholder engagement, including public sessions similar to these, and
individual meetings with interested organisations along the East coast.

The plans will inform and guide decisions on regulation
and use of the marine areas, both inshore and offshore. They aim to provide transparency for local
communities, confidence for investors and promote the efficient use of MMO marine resources.
