Your chance to stand at the helm of a 68ft ocean racing yacht

This weekend (11-12 November) one of the ten-strong fleet of Clipper Round the World yachts will be open to the public at Brighton Marina, with sailors and skippers on hand to discuss the ins and outs of ocean racing.

With berths still available on Clipper 07-08, it’s a chance for people to find out what life is like at sea for 10 months – and, decide whether the ultimate team challenge is one for them. Anyone with any level of sailing experience – including none at all – can apply to sail all or part of the circumnavigation.

The seven-leg race departs from the UK in September 2007, returning in summer 2008. Around 350 amateur sailors will undergo Clipper Ventures’ intensive training before taking to the sea for the adventure of a lifetime.

The Clipper 68 is due to arrive at Brighton Marina on Friday evening (November 10) and will depart on Sunday (November 12). On Saturday it will be open to visitors from 10am until 5pm, and on Sunday from 10am until 1pm.
