Police are trying to identify a body thought to be that of missing yachtsman

Police are examining dental records and fingerprints to identify a body thought to be that of missing yachtsman David Taylor.

The body was recovered from rocks yesterday close to Polbean Cove in Cornwall, where Mr Taylor went missing last month. His deserted yacht Grey Seal was found on 23 September at anchor with the engine running. It’s thought Mr Taylor fell overboard while preparing to leave.

A spokesman from Devon and Cornwall police said: ‘A scene of crime officer needs to make an identification and we may have to rely on dental records and matching fingerprints to any we find on the boat. We have advised the family of Mr Taylor of this development.’
