RNLI video captures retrieval

The Rolex Fastnet Race saw another competitor fall to a dismasting this morning.

At around 1000hrs the 14m (46ft) Inseyandra, with 10 crew aboard, put out a Mayday call after losing her mast some 30 miles north-west of Lands End.

An RNLI lifeboat, the Peggy and Alex Caird, was launched out of St Ives into a Force 4-5 westerly and reached the yacht nearly two hours later.

Finding the crew safe on deck, the lifeboat crew soon organised a tow with the Sennen and Penlee lifeboats relaying the stricken yacht to Falmouth for repairs.
