Staff at the Nord West group say 'it's been a shock for all of us'

One
of Scandinavia’s largest boat builders has gone into administration.

Staff
at Nord West & Najad in Henan on Orust have told of their shock at the
news.

The
company, which launched a new powerboat model at a boat show in Gothenburg just a few
weeks ago, was formed when the boat manufacturer North West in October 2012
purchased sailboat manufacturer Najad, bankrupt, 2011.

Nord
West sales representative Staffan Asp said it was hoped that the administrator
brought in would be able to find new investors to keep both brands within the
business going.

He
said: ‘The aim is to find new investors.

‘It’s
been a shock for all of us.’

The company’s website states that it has 134 employees has a turnover of approximately 300million SEK and is one of the most modern yards in Sweden

Uddevalla District Court granted the petition
for bankruptcy yesterday and appointed attorney Frederick Tengström to be the bankruptcy
trustee.
