Car park under a foot of water


One of the park-and-ride car parks that will be used to transport spectators to the Olympic sailing events has been flooded.

Heavy rainfall in Weymouth caused Radipole Lake to burst its banks on Saturday night and the nearby car park is a foot under water.

A month’s worth of rain fell in 14 hours and the BBC reported that vehicles were underwater.

A cleaning operation is now in place.
