A high-speed ferry with 65 passengers on board ran aground off the Isle of Wight on Saturday while dodging yachts taking part in the Round the Island race.
Wightlink's FastCat service from Portsmouth to Ryde got stuck on Ryde Sands at about 1800. Solent Coastguard said several vessels were need to refloat the catamaran, which was pulled free at 1935 and continued its passage to Ryde with no visible damage.
Earlier, the Ryde Inshore Rescue was called to help 14 grounded yachts, although three freed themselves.
