At 21-years-old, the youngest man to do so

Twenty-one-year-old Alasdair Boden will become the youngest man to circumnavigate Britain single-handed, when he arrives in Shamrock Quay on Friday 1 August.

Alasdair’s epic two month adventure has seen him battle for his life when his boat started sinking 30NM from refuge. He’s also dealt with gale force winds and 30ft standing waves in the Irish Sea.

‘At points I really didn’t think I’d survive. But would I do it all again? Most definitely! This has been the most amazing adventure of my life and part of me doesn’t want to stop!’

The trip was in aid of raising money and awareness for a number of charities, including the Ellen Macarthur Trust and Leukaemia Research. More information can be found at www.roundbritain2008.co.uk

Well-wishers are welcome to wait on Shamrock Quay, Southampton, at 1000 on Friday 1 August, to hail his return. If you plan on coming, contact either Gus (07919 955793) or Heather (07979 857190).
