The common corner gaps in table fiddles are great for cleaning out crumbs – but can let out liquid or sharp objects if the boat heels. Some people prefer a solid fiddle with a hole in the corner of the table for cleaning. A plastic bung, from the end of a cardboard mailing tube makes it nearly watertight or acts as a lift-out crumb collector.
