An estimated half-a-million visitors in July flocked to Brest, Brittany, for the week-long festival of traditional boats, with another week-long event that
runs the following week at Douarnenez, along the coast.
Despite a weather-delayed Channel crossing, Liz and Tim Dodwell spent two days in Brest and took part in the 2,000-strong flotilla from Brest to Douarnenez in their 9.14m (30ft) Cornish Crabber Pilot Cutter, High Barbaree.
