Adrian Flanagan: Yacht Barrabus up for sale

In October 2005, adventurer Adrian Flanagan set sail on the Alpha Global Expedition, a single-handed 'vertical' circumnavigation. After two halts for over-wintering, in May this year, he will complete the last part of this spectacular expedition, from Norway to Hamble Point Marina in the south of England, when his yacht Barrabus will be up for sale.

Built to withstand the most severe conditions, Barrabas is only the 14th yacht to be sailed single-handed west about Cape Horn. She is constructed entirely from Titanium-enriched 316L Stainless Steel and hand-built in France and comes with a full suit of sails, an Ampair wind generator, a solar panel array and a Hydrovane self-steering system.

All deck gear is over-engineered, sized to meet the demands of a 70-foot yacht. On deck fuel cages can accommodate an additional 300 litres.

Safety equipment includes an unsinkable dinghy with sailing rig and a Jordan Series Drogue.

The galley has two sinks and pressurized hot and cold water and there is room to sleep six.

Adrian will be at the boat - currently moored in Norway - preparing for the final stage of the expedition at the end of April.

For the latest on the expedition see Adrian's website: http://agx.firetrench.com
